Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum five years of experience in a full-service restaurant or events venue
- At least one year experience leading a team or increased responsibilities
- Basic computer skills including typing and Windows experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to train, motivate and lead staff
- Must be self-directed and team-oriented
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and long shifts
- Physical ability to lift or move 50 pounds or more without help
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Five or more years of experience in a full-service restaurant, events venue, or similar field
- One year of experience leading a team or demonstrated increased responsibility in a similar role
- Computer skills including basic typing and experience with Windows
- Excellent communication and active listening skills
- Ability to develop results-oriented staff through training, evaluation, motivation, coaching and counseling
- Ability to distribute responsibility to meet company objectives
- Ability to be self-directed while working as part of a team
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including mornings, nights, weekends, and shifts over 8 hours
- Ability to lift, push, or pull 50 pounds or more without assistance
Job Duties
- Interview, hire, coach, supervise, direct, develop and mentor kitchen stewarding employees and dish-room operations
- Supervise all breakdown and end of shift activities, overseeing daily productivity through shift end
- Provide leadership and support to stewarding staff, including Catering Stewards and Kitchen Stewards
- Maintain consistent daily communication with Executive and Sous Chefs and support employee relations
- Deliver daily direction and leadership to Kitchen Stewards through meetings and communication
- Ensure the dish room is clean and organized
- Assist with organization and equipment storage
- Maintain a positive and compliant employee relations climate and solve problems rapidly
- Notify management immediately of escalated employee situations or safety concerns
- Deliver employee discipline as directed by the Executive Chef
- Assist with moving equipment from the event floor to the dish room
- Ensure compliance with health, sanitation, safety, and employment regulations
- Assist with kitchen duties such as prepping, firing food for events, and plate up
- Use knives safely and accurately while assisting in the kitchen
- Perform other duties as assigned
