Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree
- Minimum three years' experience as assistant chief steward in a hotel with similar style and standards
- Strong knowledge of chemicals, dish machines and kitchen sanitation
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to use computer and possess typing and moderate to advanced computer skills
- Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
Job Duties
- Maintain cleanliness of the entire property including restaurants, room service and banquet areas
- Ensure timely food delivery to designated function areas
- Fill equipment requisitions for banquet front of house staff
- Conduct training for stewarding supervisors and staff
- Maintain knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment
- Conduct regular inventory of china, glassware, silverware, and chemicals
- Assist guests and staff in a team-oriented approach
- Adhere to state sanitation and health regulations
- Collaborate with Executive Chef on kitchen needs and business levels
- Communicate effectively with management and service staff
- Create and update equipment pull sheets
- Maximize staff productivity and accountability
- Develop relationships with equipment vendors
- Ensure requisitions are processed and placed correctly
- Complete opening duties including equipment and schedule inspection
- Maintain proper storage procedures
- Minimize breakage and damage to equipment
- Maintain kitchen equipment functionality
- Conduct interviews and create schedules for stewarding team
