Job Requirements
- Ability to carry or lift items weighing up to 50 pounds

- completion of a high school diploma or equivalent
- three years of chef experience or equivalent
- possession of food service permit or health/food handler card

Job Qualifications
- Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent
- three years of experience as a chef or equivalent combination of education and culinary/kitchen operations experience
- degree or certificate in culinary arts preferred
- excellent communication skills
- ability to read, write, and use math for budgeting and inventory
- problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational, and training abilities
- alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card
- ability to interact professionally with guests, employees, and third parties
Job Duties
- Oversee methods of preparation, portion sizes, and timeliness of food preparation
- control food usage to minimize waste
- assist the Executive Chef in creating and testing new recipes and maintaining updated documentation and costing
- maintain procedures for food security, inventory, and equipment upkeep
- recommend and initiate staffing actions including salary and disciplinary measures
- promote teamwork through communication with other departments
- assist sales and catering staff with special events
- interact with guests, vendors, and regulatory agencies to ensure satisfaction and compliance
- review menus and complete requisitions for food and supplies
- maintain inventory control procedures
- assist in developing new menus and concepts
- supervise day-to-day culinary staff operations and schedule work
- communicate and enforce policies and procedures
- ensure proper operation and cleanliness of kitchen equipment and workspaces
- notify engineering of maintenance needs
- may serve as Manager on Duty or perform other duties as assigned
