Job Requirements
- Be genuinely interested in a career at sea and willing to live and work onboard a Disney Cruise Line vessel
- willingness to follow and perform safety roles and emergency responsibilities as specified in the ship Assembly Plan
- willingness to uphold general safety management responsibilities under their control
- willingness to share a confined cabin with other crew members if applicable and appreciate working and living in a multicultural environment with strict rules and regulations
- have a valid passport and C1/D seaman's visa
- complete a pre-employment medical
- obtain a criminal background check
- bring approved work shoes
Job Qualifications
- Five years or more of leadership experience with at least two years working as a sous chef in a fine dining establishment
- understanding and ability to verbalize the fundamentals of cooking
- dedication to culinary career growth
- proficiency in all kitchen stations
- ability to work with a multi-cultural team in a confined environment
- proficiency in safe food handling and HACCP/USPH standards
- knowledge and proficiency in following and converting recipes
- minimum two-three years of formal culinary training preferred
- prior ship experience preferred
Job Duties
- Collaborate with the executive chef to plan and deliver menus
- ensure every food item leaving the kitchen is of the highest quality in flavor and presentation
- lead all aspects of the Remy/Enchante culinary team including training and mentoring staff
- oversee inventory and control costs
- act as a link between the kitchen and customers while connecting with the front-of-house team
- maintain all applicable USPH and HACCP standards
- be responsible for the Remy/Enchante operation when the executive chef is not available
