Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- relevant culinary experience
- ability to supervise and manage kitchen staff
- strong organizational and communication skills
- ability to develop and execute menus
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- computer proficiency including Microsoft Office
- able to work in a fast-paced environment
- capable of performing safety and quality assurance walkthroughs
- must be able to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation
Job Qualifications
- Associate of Science or equivalent culinary experience
- progressive culinary or kitchen management experience
- catering experience
- experience with high volume and complex foodservice operations
- knowledge of institutional and batch cooking
- comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends focusing on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
- proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, email and internet
Job Duties
- Assist the Executive Chef with managing cost controls and expenditures for the dining program
- Assist the Executive Chef with planning and creating menus
- Produce and execute catering events as needed
- Roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with company marketing and culinary teams
- Assist with research and development of recipes and ingredients
- Assist with overall well-being initiatives for the café program
- Conduct daily safety, quality assurance, and safety walk throughs
- Assist with management of café hourly teams
- Manage ordering, receiving, and ensure proper coding and accounts payable of invoices
- Assist with safety and sanitation training for Compass Compliance
