Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 6 years experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
- OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
- 4 years experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
- Ability to provide leadership and manage kitchen operations
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage budgets and expenses
- Capable of training and developing kitchen staff
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 6 years of relevant culinary or food and beverage experience
- OR Associate degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related field with 4 years of relevant experience
- Proven leadership experience in kitchen management
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to develop menus and creative food presentations
- Experience managing budgets and controlling department expenses
- Ability to mentor and train staff effectively
Job Duties
- Provides direction for all day-to-day kitchen operations
- Understands employee positions well enough to perform duties in employees' absence or determine appropriate replacements
- Provides guidance and direction to subordinates including setting performance standards
- Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members
- Ensures property policies are administered fairly and consistently
- Supervises and coordinates activities of cooks and workers engaged in food preparation
- Develops and implements guidelines and control procedures for purchasing and receiving areas
