Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Six years experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
- Or two-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
- Four years experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
- Ability to work full-time in a fast-paced luxury hotel environment
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills
- Commitment to uphold sanitation and food safety standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in budget management and operational control
- Capability to handle guest feedback and resolve complaints
- Willingness to foster a positive and collaborative team atmosphere
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with six years of experience in culinary, food and beverage or related professional area
- Or two-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related field with four years of culinary, food and beverage experience
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and food safety standards
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- Proficient in budgeting and controlling department expenses
- Ability to develop and implement operational procedures
- Skilled at guest service and problem resolution
- Experience in training and mentoring staff
- Ability to maintain high quality culinary standards
- Competence in coordinating with other departments and stakeholders
Job Duties
- Provide direction for all day-to-day kitchen operations
- Perform employee roles in their absence or arrange appropriate replacements
- Guide and direct subordinates, setting and monitoring performance standards
- Lead by example with interpersonal skills, honesty, and integrity
- Foster mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members
- Administer property policies fairly and consistently
- Review staffing levels to meet service and financial goals
- Establish and maintain collaborative employee relationships
- Solicit and address employee feedback and concerns
- Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and food preparation workers
- Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to staff
- Develop and implement guidelines for purchasing and receiving
- Set performance, budget, and team goals
- Communicate and enforce safety procedures
- Manage controllable department expenses
- Participate in budgeting processes
- Monitor food quality and presentation standards
- Ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation standards
- Train kitchen associates on cooking fundamentals and presentation
- Prepare and cook foods for regular and special functions
- Provide exceptional customer service behaviors
- Coach and provide feedback to improve service
- Manage guest relations and handle complaints
- Empower employees to deliver excellent service
- Review guest satisfaction data for improvement
- Identify developmental needs and mentor staff
