Job Requirements

  • Stand and walk for extended periods

Job Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a kitchen leadership role
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • High work ethic and self-initiative
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Suite
  • Ability to maintain attention to tasks and complete assignments on time
  • Ability to work under high pressure or stressful situations
  • Ability to maintain excellent relationships and confidentiality with staff and guests

Job Duties

  • Supervise, guide and train kitchen associates to provide quality food production with focus on timing, portions, food quality and sanitation
  • Ensure appropriate inventory of supplies and materials for kitchen operations
  • Establish, direct and review performance standards in food preparation, purchasing and production
  • Manage kitchen to adhere to OSHA and food handling regulations
  • Lead by example with positive and professional communication and fair treatment of staff
  • Ensure standards for storage, rotation, production, portions, quality and appearance are followed
  • Complete opening and closing procedures for station cooks
  • Expedite food efficiently during meal periods
  • Check portion control, food cost, and sales accuracy
  • Assist in menu and recipe creation with Executive Chef
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure effective hotel operation
