Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Six years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
- OR two-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
- Four years experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
- Strong leadership skills
- Effective communication skills
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to manage finances and departmental budgets
- Experience in staff training and performance management
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Provide direction for all day-to-day kitchen operations
- Understand employee positions and perform duties in absence or determine replacements
- Provide guidance and set performance standards for subordinates
- Lead by example with honesty and integrity
- Encourage mutual trust and cooperation among team members
- Review staffing levels to meet service, operational, and financial objectives
- Develop and implement guidelines for purchasing and receiving
- Establish performance and budget goals
- Communicate and enforce safety procedures
- Manage departmental controllable expenses
- Participate in budgeting processes
- Ensure compliance with brand safety standards
- Provide direction for menu development
- Monitor quality of food products
- Create decorative food presentations
- Ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation standards
- Prepare and cook foods as needed
- Provide customer service guidance and support
- Manage day-to-day operations to meet customer expectations
- Handle guest feedback, complaints, and empower employees
- Conduct coaching, mentoring, and training of kitchen staff
- Administer performance appraisals and discipline procedures
- Coordinate with banquet and catering departments
- Provide information and problem-solving support to management and staff
