Job Requirements
- Five years experience in fine dining high volume environment
- progressively responsible culinary management experience
- good organizational skills
- ability to operate kitchen appliances safely
- satisfactory physical and mental health
- ability to stand and walk for up to eight hours
- ability to carry up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive motions
- ability to work weekdays, weekends and holidays
- ability to multitask and communicate effectively in English
- basic math proficiency
- must meet food safety certification standards
Job Qualifications
- Associate degree in culinary arts or equivalent experience
- at least one year experience as sous chef, chef or kitchen manager
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- advanced knife skills
- effective management and leadership abilities
- commitment to hospitality and service excellence
- possession of required food certifications
- knowledge of budgeting, tracking and inventory systems
- competence in POS and scheduling software
- experience in performance management and coaching
Job Duties
- Direct and coordinate all coworkers engaged in food preparation and cooking
- cook and portion meats, fishes and produce for forecasted business
- prepare daily sauces and soups
- manage labor and cost control
- ensure safety and sanitation compliance
- prepare and maintain station guides and conduct line checks
- supervise kitchen operations in Executive Chef's absence
- assist with food ordering and menu planning
- oversee expo duties and communicate menu specifics
- enforce health regulations and safe work habits
- coach and guide kitchen staff
- monitor financial goals for food and labor costs
