Job Requirements

  • Minimum two years experience in culinary supervisory or management role
  • high school diploma required
  • formal culinary schooling preferred
  • ability to perform duties in confined spaces and extreme temperatures
  • ability to supervise large staff and meet deadlines
  • mathematically skilled in interpreting reports and budgets
  • computer literate relating to inventory and menu software
  • physical ability to lift and move up to 200 lbs consistently
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to minimize food waste
  • ability to create specials aligned with menu concept

Job Qualifications

  • High school education required
  • minimum of 2 years formal culinary schooling preferred
  • minimum of 2 years experience in culinary supervisory or management position preferably in fine dining
  • considerable knowledge of mathematical skills including addition subtraction multiplication and division
  • familiarity with basic computer operations and software related to inventory control and menu creation
  • ability to analyze and forecast data for payroll and production control
  • strong leadership skills to supervise large staff and accomplish timely goals
  • experience conducting meetings and maintaining communication between kitchen staff and leadership
  • skilled manual dexterity using kitchen equipment such as knives spoons spatulas slicers
  • ability to effectively handle customer interactions requiring patience tact and diplomacy
  • creativity in developing cost-effective specials consistent with cuisine concept

Job Duties

  • Interview hire train supervise and schedule kitchen staff including chefs and cooks participate actively in food preparation and cooking in accordance with productivity standards cost controls and forecast needs
  • visually inspect appearance of all food items ensuring proper taste color combination and presentation
  • listen actively and communicate clearly with both internal and external customers promoting food products and directing staff activities
  • analyze client and associate feedback to implement improvements
  • maintain cooperative working relationships with hotel staff to ensure efficient operation and customer service
  • organize and conduct monthly culinary meetings to foster team communication and alignment
  • monitor staff performance product quality and production flow making improvements where necessary
  • audit food storeroom items market sheets and storage to ensure consistent quality and adherence to health code requirements
  • enforce kitchen safety procedures and cleanliness including walk-in and reach-in boxes
  • create and maintain strong vendor relationships for quality supplies
  • ensure compliance with all local state and federal regulations
  • prepare food items following approved recipe specifications
  • oversee restaurant operations during peak periods managing production flow and presentation
  • report equipment repair needs to engineering department
  • perform additional duties such as organizing VIP parties and staff meetings as requested
