Job Requirements

  • 7+ years experience in culinary leadership
  • Culinary degree preferred
  • Mastery of kitchen stations and cooking methods
  • Ability to create and deliver high-quality food promptly
  • Knowledge of culinary trends and food presentation
  • Organized with proficient time management
  • Computer proficiency including spreadsheets and inventory software
  • Safe Food Handling Certification required
  • Serve Safe certification preferred
  • Strong kitchen and staff management record
  • Mathematical skills for business needs
  • Clear communication skills
  • Flexible work schedule availability
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs frequently and 100 lbs occasionally
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Empathy and energy for working with diverse senior population

Job Qualifications

  • Culinary degree preferred
  • Experience managing high-volume commercial kitchens
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current culinary trends
  • Mastery of various cooking methods and kitchen equipment
  • Proficiency in inventory management and online purchasing systems
  • Knowledge of food safety standards including Safe Food Handling Certification
  • Strong leadership and staff management skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and culinary leadership team to enforce food safety policies
  • Manage high-volume kitchen operations ensuring quality and consistency
  • Oversee and train kitchen staff on culinary techniques and safety standards
  • Maintain inventory control including purchasing and tracking supplies
  • Develop and implement creative food presentations and menus
  • Ensure efficient kitchen workflow and time management
  • Communicate effectively with dining room staff and management to meet guest expectations
