Job Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in culinary or related field
  • Associate degree or two-year equivalent specialized training or experience preferred
  • Ability to lead and manage kitchen staff
  • Knowledge of Serv-Safe procedures and food safety regulations
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Capacity to work full-time in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Job Qualifications

  • Experience of 3-5 years in the culinary field
  • Associate degree or two-year equivalent specialized training or experience
  • Proven leadership and staff management skills
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and health department regulations
  • Strong understanding of culinary and wellness nutrition principles
  • Experience in developing and presenting culinary classes
  • Ability to manage budgets and control food costs
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills

Job Duties

  • Manage the preparation, production and presentation of all food in main kitchen and related areas in a safe, sanitary and cost effective manner
  • Assist in development, marketing and presenting guest-facing revenue generating cooking classes
  • Oversee food preparation and presentation in accordance with Canyon Ranch recipes, nutritional philosophy and quality standards
  • Report, document and rectify any known safety hazards, conditions or unsafe practices
  • Supervise culinary staff including interviewing, selecting, training, coaching, counseling and termination decisions
  • Conduct regular performance discussions and assist in annual reviews
  • Adjust schedules to ensure proper department coverage
  • Collaborate with culinary management to develop training techniques and procedures
  • Assist in development of department budget and work with Executive Chef to control food costs and achieve budget goals
