Job Requirements

  • Education level post high school but less than four-year degree
  • five to ten years of relevant culinary management experience
  • advanced food profession knowledge
  • oral and written communication skills
  • physical ability to lift 30-35 pounds several times per shift
  • good mobility and ability to stand continuously for extended periods
  • ability to communicate effectively with employees
  • ability to hear machinery for safety
  • excellent comprehension and literacy for budgeting
  • willing to work in varying temperature conditions including freezer and hot kitchen

Job Qualifications

  • More than two years of post high school education, but less than a four-year college degree
  • five to ten years of employment in a related culinary management position
  • advanced knowledge of food profession principles and practices
  • experience managing people and handling complex food and beverage challenges
  • strong oral and written communication skills

Job Duties

  • Plan and manage the kitchen staff in procurement, production, preparation and presentation of all food for the hotel in a safe, sanitary work environment
  • recommend menu and procedural changes
  • manage budget and control food and labor costs within approved constraints
  • adhere to all standard operating procedures and food programs to ensure consistent quality
  • hire, train, develop, empower and coach kitchen associates and managers
  • monitor and maintain kitchen and equipment sanitation and safety
  • develop and implement menus and backup plans
  • execute and promote accident prevention programs
