Job Requirements

  • At least 3 years experience in a supervisory role in a kitchen setting
  • 5 to 10 years culinary experience working in a catering or restaurant setting
  • ability to communicate effectively as a leader
  • professional appearance and manner
  • willingness to assist co-workers and be a team player
  • culinary experience and supervisory background
  • proficiency in Excel and understanding of financial statements
  • legal authorization to work
  • compliance with company policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • ServSafe Food Manager Certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Maintain complete knowledge of and ensure associate compliance with all departmental/hotel policies and procedures
  • interview, hire, train, recommend performance evaluations, resolve problems, provide open communication and recommend discipline and/or termination when appropriate
  • establish the day’s priorities and assign production and preparation tasks for staff to execute
  • review daily menu specials and offer feedback to line cooks
  • develop daily and seasonal menu items for the restaurant, test and write recipes
  • check the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met
  • determine how food should be presented and create decorative food displays
  • participate in training restaurant staff on menu items including ingredients, preparation methods and unique tastes
