Job Requirements

  • Minimum of four years of kitchen management or equivalent culinary leadership experience
  • Experience leading teams of seven or more staff members
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to independently manage kitchen operations in a fast-paced setting
  • Capability to follow and manage standard operating procedures to meet quality standards
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Leadership ability to coach and motivate team members positively
  • Computer literacy and comfort with multiple technology platforms
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods, bend, reach, stoop and lift up to 30 pounds
  • Willingness to work weekends and holidays
  • Fluency in English
  • Other related responsibilities as assigned

Job Qualifications

  • Pastry chef, executive chef, kitchen manager, chef de cuisine or sous chef experience of a minimum of four years
  • Previous kitchen management experience leading teams of seven or more
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
  • Ability to manage kitchen operations independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational, planning, problem-solving and operational skills in a team-based environment
  • Leadership skills with the ability to coach and mentor with positivity
  • Proficient with computers and mobile devices
  • Fluency in reading and communicating in English

Job Duties

  • Act in a responsible manner that promotes the culture, values and mission of The Salty
  • Set an example for the team by maintaining consistent attendance, punctuality and cleanliness
  • Train new hires and maintain a consistent learning environment ensuring all staff are properly trained and updated
  • Ensure product quality standards are upheld for dough, decor and other items
  • Form a strong, cohesive team with a humanized leadership approach promoting growth and accountability
  • Supervise workforce, order raw goods and maintain kitchen equipment
  • Monitor and evaluate team performance and maintain kitchen cleanliness compliant to food-safety standards
