Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years kitchen management experience
  • Experience leading teams of 7 or more
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Ability to manage kitchen operations independently
  • Knowledge of standard operating procedures
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Proficiency with computers and mobile devices
  • Ability to work standing for up to 10 hours
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays
  • Fluency in English

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years experience as pastry chef, executive chef, kitchen manager, chef de cuisine, or sous chef
  • Previous management experience leading teams of 7 or more
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written
  • Proficient with technology platforms for communication and task management
  • Ability to work independently in a high-paced kitchen environment
  • Knowledge of SOPs for product quality
  • Leadership skills with a positive coaching style
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work standing for long periods
  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and lift up to 30 pounds
  • Fluency in English

Job Duties

  • Act as a leader promoting The Salty's culture and values
  • Maintain consistent attendance, punctuality, and cleanliness
  • Train new hires and ensure ongoing team education
  • Supervise product quality and maintain Salty's standards
  • Manage kitchen ordering, inventory, and supplier relationships
  • Schedule and monitor BOH staff hours and payroll
  • Oversee kitchen cleanliness and food-safety compliance
  • Conduct tastings and quality checks regularly
  • Develop and mentor pastry sous chefs
  • Recruit, interview, and onboard back-of-house staff
  • Utilize production planning software for prep and ordering
  • Approve and manage time off requests and payroll
  • Drive positive team environment through feedback and recognition
  • Manage budgeting including COGS and labor percentage
  • Coordinate repair and maintenance of kitchen equipment
