Job Requirements

  • Qualified experience in a high volume fine dining establishment as executive pastry chef
  • Experience with banquet production preferred
  • Full knowledge of pastry techniques and principles
  • Prior experience with dough, cakes, ice cream, chocolate, a la carte dining and production
  • Degree from a post-secondary culinary arts program or equivalent preferred
  • 3 plus years executive pastry chef experience preferred
  • Supervisory experience required
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership skills
  • Experience hiring, training and mentoring BOH staff
  • Dependable and hardworking
  • ServSafe certification required
  • Ability to speak clearly and listen attentively
  • Ability to read and write
  • Ability to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to eight hours
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Possess finger dexterity to use small tools adeptly
  • Availability must include days, nights, weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as an executive pastry chef in a high-volume fine dining environment
  • Knowledge of pastry techniques involving starches, fats, sugars, liquids, eggs, chocolates, and flavorings
  • Degree or equivalent in culinary arts preferred
  • Leadership and supervisory experience
  • Ability to train and mentor kitchen staff
  • ServSafe certification
  • Strong communication skills

Job Duties

  • Manage all pastry production and menu development
  • Lead and mentor pastry kitchen staff
  • Ensure quality control for all desserts and baked goods
  • Maintain inventory and order ingredients
  • Collaborate with culinary team for menu innovation
  • Uphold food safety and sanitation standards
  • Oversee banquet pastry production when required
