Job Requirements
- Qualified experience in a high volume fine dining establishment as executive pastry chef
- Experience with banquet production preferred
- Full knowledge of pastry techniques and principles
- Prior experience with dough, cakes, ice cream, chocolate, a la carte dining and production
- Degree from a post-secondary culinary arts program or equivalent preferred
- 3 plus years executive pastry chef experience preferred
- Supervisory experience required
- Ability to demonstrate leadership skills
- Experience hiring, training and mentoring BOH staff
- Dependable and hardworking
- ServSafe certification required
- Ability to speak clearly and listen attentively
- Ability to read and write
- Ability to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to eight hours
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
- Possess finger dexterity to use small tools adeptly
- Availability must include days, nights, weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Experience as an executive pastry chef in a high-volume fine dining environment
- Knowledge of pastry techniques involving starches, fats, sugars, liquids, eggs, chocolates, and flavorings
- Degree or equivalent in culinary arts preferred
- Leadership and supervisory experience
- Ability to train and mentor kitchen staff
- ServSafe certification
- Strong communication skills
Job Duties
- Manage all pastry production and menu development
- Lead and mentor pastry kitchen staff
- Ensure quality control for all desserts and baked goods
- Maintain inventory and order ingredients
- Collaborate with culinary team for menu innovation
- Uphold food safety and sanitation standards
- Oversee banquet pastry production when required
