Job Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant kitchen management experience
  • proven leadership in managing teams of 7 or more
  • strong communication skills both oral and written
  • ability to operate independently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • knowledge and adherence to SOPs and food safety standards
  • proficient with technology for scheduling, communication and production management
  • physical ability to stand for long hours and lift up to 30 pounds
  • availability to work weekends and holidays
  • fluency in English

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years experience in roles such as Pastry Chef, Executive Chef, Kitchen Manager, Chef de Cuisine, or Sous Chef
  • previous kitchen management experience leading teams of 7 or more
  • excellent oral and written communication skills
  • ability to manage kitchen operations independently in a fast-paced environment
  • strong organizational, planning and problem-solving skills
  • leadership capabilities to coach and mentor through positivity
  • proficiency with computers and mobile devices
  • knowledge of kitchen production and costing software
  • familiarity with food safety regulations
  • physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds
  • flexible to work weekends and holidays
  • fluent in English

Job Duties

  • communictes positively by praising team achievements
  • follows standard operating procedures to achieve operational excellence including product tastings
  • manages kitchen disciplines such as mixing, proofing, frying and decorating donuts
  • places orders and maintains relationships with suppliers
  • develops Pastry Sous Chefs
  • manages purchases and inventory
  • coordinates weekly inventory counts
  • inputs production quantities into production planning software
  • schedules all BOH staff
  • approves time off requests and payroll
  • monitors payroll and controls overtime
  • reviews financial reports related to COGS, labor percentages and store performance
  • recruits, interviews and hires team members
  • onboards new hires
  • uses various digital platforms for communication and task management
  • ensures compliance with food safety standards and cleanliness
  • schedules repairs and kitchen maintenance
  • provides coaching and feedback to team members
  • recognizes team achievements and milestones
  • cross trains team members to increase productivity and effectiveness
