Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in pastry and baking preparation
  • Ability to move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods during a work shift
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays
  • Ability to obtain Riverside County Food Handlers Card
  • Maintain professional business appearance and attitude
  • Basic math skills

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a pastry chef or baker in a luxury or upscale hotel environment
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Knowledge of food cost control and inventory management
  • Ability to create and execute diverse pastry menus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic math skills to understand and implement recipes and measurements
  • Ability to maintain calm and resolve problems using good judgment

Job Duties

  • Provide direction for interviewing, hiring, counseling, training, and disciplining for pastry associates in coordination with Human Resources and Executive Chef
  • Schedule production work for associates
  • Control all food costs and payroll
  • Responsible for purchasing supplies
  • Coordinate production of all baked goods and dessert items ordered by outlets
  • Complete special requests ordered by outlets or other departments
  • Prepare wedding cakes for social functions as needed
  • Coordinate and execute VIP amenities and lobby activations
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area at all times
  • Maintain a professional business appearance, attitude, and performance
