Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience in pastry or baking roles within upscale hotel or similar environment
  • Ability to lead and manage a team of pastry associates
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to obtain Riverside County Food Handlers Card
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays
  • Physical ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role in an upscale hotel or related hospitality environment
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and ability to obtain Riverside County Food Handlers Card
  • Basic math skills for recipe and measurement calculations
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to prepare wedding cakes and handle special dessert requests
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays
  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods
  • Professional business appearance and demeanor

Job Duties

  • Provide direction for interviewing, hiring, counseling, training, and disciplining for Pastry associates in coordination with Human Resources and Executive Chef
  • Schedule production work for associates
  • Control all food costs and payroll
  • Responsible for purchasing supplies
  • Coordinate production of all baked goods and dessert items ordered by outlets
  • Complete any special requests ordered by outlets or other departments
  • Prepare wedding cakes for social functions as needed
  • Coordinate and execute V.I.P. amenities and lobby activations
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area at all times
  • Be a clear thinker, remain calm and resolve problems using good judgment
  • Maintain a professional business appearance, attitude, and performance
