Job Requirements

  • Minimum four years of experience in a pastry chef, executive chef, kitchen manager, chef de cuisine or sous chef role
  • Proven leadership in a kitchen management capacity leading seven or more staff
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Capable of independently managing kitchen operations in a fast-paced environment
  • Competent in following and managing standard operating procedures to maintain product quality
  • Strong organizational and operational management skills
  • Ability to coach and mentor team members positively
  • Proficient in computer and mobile device usage
  • Ability to stand for long periods up to ten hours
  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop and lift up to 30 pounds
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays
  • Fluency in English

Job Qualifications

  • Pastry chef, executive chef, kitchen manager, chef de cuisine, sous chef or equivalent experience of minimum four years
  • Previous kitchen management experience leading teams of seven or more
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
  • Strong organizational, planning, problem-solving and operational skills
  • Leadership skills with a positive coaching and mentoring approach
  • Proficiency with computers and mobile devices
  • Fluency in reading and communicating in English

Job Duties

  • Act in a responsible manner that promotes the culture, values and mission of The Salty
  • Set an example for the team by maintaining consistent attendance, punctuality and cleanliness
  • Train new hires and maintain a consistent learning environment ensuring staff are properly trained and updated
  • Ensure all teams uphold Salty's standards of product quality in dough, decor and preparation
  • Form a cohesive team environment promoting growth, accountability and positive leadership
  • Manage kitchen operations including ordering, inventory and equipment maintenance
  • Schedule all BOH staff and approve payroll while monitoring labor hours and overtime
