Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 6 years culinary or food and beverage experience or 2-year degree with 4 years experience
  • Ability to lead and supervise a culinary team
  • Strong creative and technical baking skills
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safety standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work full-time on-site at Gaylord Pacific Resort & Convention Center
  • Availability to manage shifts and lead by example
  • Capability to manage budgets and inventory
  • Willingness to participate in community outreach and guest engagement

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 6 years experience in culinary or related area
  • OR 2-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management or related major with 4 years experience
  • Proven leadership and management skills
  • Strong baking and decorating expertise
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to develop and innovate pastry products
  • Experience in budget management and inventory control
  • Ability to handle guest interactions professionally
  • Proficiency in training and mentoring culinary staff

Job Duties

  • Manages daily pastry operations
  • Supervises and coordinates activities of pastry cooks and staff
  • Exhibits creative baking and decorating talents while performing tasks
  • Leads, mentors, and coaches pastry team members
  • Maintains food quality, safety, and sanitation standards
  • Develops and innovates new pastry products and menu items
  • Monitors budget, purchasing, and inventory management
  • Conducts culinary classes and cooking demonstrations
  • Handles guest feedback and resolves complaints
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Represents the resort at media and community events
  • Trains employees on safety and food handling procedures
