Job Qualifications

  • Minimum four years experience in pastry chef, executive chef, kitchen manager, chef de cuisine, or sous chef role
  • Previous kitchen management experience leading teams of seven or more
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills with positive coaching approach
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with computer and mobile technology platforms
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and compliance
  • Ability to work standing for up to ten hours
  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and lift up to 30 pounds
  • Fluency in English

Job Duties

  • Act as a responsible leader promoting the company's culture, values and mission
  • Maintain consistent attendance, punctuality and cleanliness as an example for the team
  • Train new hires and ensure continuous team education and communication
  • Uphold standards of product quality in all kitchen processes
  • Form a cohesive and motivated team that promotes growth and accountability
  • Manage kitchen operations independently including dough, decor, and prep
  • Oversee ordering and inventory management to maintain adequate supplies
  • Schedule all back-of-house staff following production forecasts
  • Approve time off and payroll, monitor staff hours and prevent overtime
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and food safety compliance
  • Conduct tastings and quality control three times a week
  • Recruit, interview, and onboard new team members
  • Use production software to plan prep lists and manage costs
  • Provide clear, timely coaching and feedback
  • Foster a positive work environment recognizing individual and team achievements
  • Collaborate with front-of-house for seamless operations
  • Schedule and monitor maintenance of kitchen equipment
