Job Requirements

  • Proven experience as a successful pastry chef
  • Prior management experience of multi-unit required
  • Ability to travel around Charleston providing desserts to restaurants
  • 3+ years of experience in a pastry kitchen handling preparation and cooking
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Creative with a problem-solving approach
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge of food preparation, sanitation principles, baking techniques and nutrition
  • Must be available to work days, nights, weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a successful pastry chef, Prior multi-unit management experience, Ability to travel between multiple restaurant locations, Over 3 years of experience in pastry kitchen preparation and cooking, Strong attention to detail, Creative problem-solving skills, Strong leadership and communication skills, Extensive knowledge of food preparation, sanitation principles, baking techniques and nutrition

Job Duties

  • Craft dessert menu fitting the restaurant concept and locale, Partner with Executive Chef to ensure menu consistency, Prepare detailed recipe cards and enforce their use, Develop and motivate pastry team sharing inspiration and ideas, Maintain strong communication and receptiveness to feedback, Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of workstations according to DHEC regulations, Report product shortages and equipment problems promptly, Participate in employee meetings offering improvement suggestions, Prioritize guest experience in all pastry operations
