Job Requirements

  • minimum 3 years experience in a pastry kitchen handling preparation and cooking
  • ability to travel around Charleston providing desserts to restaurants
  • availability to work days, nights, weekends and holidays
  • strong leadership and communication skills
  • strong attention to detail
  • proven experience as a successful pastry chef
  • prior management experience of multi-unit
  • extensive knowledge of food preparation, sanitation principles, baking techniques and nutrition
  • creative with a problem-solving approach

Job Duties

  • craft dessert menus fitting the concept and locale in partnership with the executive chef
  • prepare detailed recipe cards to ensure consistency
  • motivate and develop future pastry chefs by sharing inspiration and ideas
  • communicate openly with other chefs to ensure menu coherence
  • maintain a clean and sanitary work station adhering to all DHEC regulations
  • promptly report product shortages, equipment issues or food quality problems
  • participate in scheduled employee meetings offering suggestions
  • ensure the guest experience is the primary goal
