Job Requirements

  • Proven experience as a successful pastry chef
  • Prior management experience of multi-unit required
  • Ability to travel around Charleston providing desserts to restaurants
  • 3+ years of experience in a pastry kitchen handling preparation and cooking
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Creative with a problem-solving approach
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge of food preparation, sanitation principles, baking techniques and nutrition
  • Must be available to work days, nights, weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Craft dessert menus fitting with the restaurant concept and locale while collaborating with the Executive Chef
  • Prepare detailed recipe cards and ensure team adherence for consistency
  • Motivate, teach, and maintain a positive culture among pastry cooks by sharing inspiration and ideas
  • Communicate openly with chefs and receptively adapt recipes based on feedback
  • Maintain clean and sanitary workstations according to all health regulations
  • Report product shortages, equipment problems, or food quality issues promptly to the Executive Chef
  • Participate actively in employee meetings offering suggestions for improvement
  • Ensure the guest experience remains the top priority in all pastry operations
