Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5 years of relevant work experience
  • proficiency in hotel information systems
  • strong computer skills
  • ability to manage and lead staff
  • excellent communication skills
  • flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • understanding of health, safety and alcohol service regulations
  • ability to analyze financial reports and control budgets
  • experience in training and development
  • customer service orientation
  • compliance with company policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) or 5 years’ work equivalent
  • bachelor’s degree preferred
  • computer skills required
  • familiarity with Microsoft Office preferred
  • experience with hotel information systems required
  • previous Marriott experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations and assignments of the hotel staff
  • assist the General Manager in the development and communication of departmental strategies and goals
  • communicate and enforce policies and procedures
  • recommend disciplinary or other staffing/human resources-related actions in accordance with company rules and policies
  • ensure all staff is properly trained and have the tools and equipment needed to effectively carry out their job functions
  • assist General Manager in the development, implementation and monitoring of financial and operational plans for the hotel
  • provide regular directions and manage hotel operations for front office, revenue, and reservation functions
  • manage food and beverage operations including bartending, banquets, breakfast and micros functions
  • ensure housekeeping and maintenance functions comply with quality and brand standards
  • foster positive employee relations
  • reconcile time edits and payroll administration in compliance with wage and hour regulations
  • ensure guest convenience store is stocked and maintained
  • facilitate monthly inventories for food/beverage costs and order supplies
  • monitor and report variances against budget, control labor costs and other expenses
  • establish and implement service recovery guidelines to ensure guest satisfaction
  • respond to guest complaints or concerns in a prompt and professional manner
  • comply with federal, state and local laws regarding health, safety and alcohol services
  • foster positive owner relationships and assist in providing ongoing information and status reports
  • utilize strong communication skills to interact effectively with guests, employees and third parties
  • analyze guest satisfaction scores and comments and develop action plans to address deficiencies
  • work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
  • promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination
  • interact with guests, vendors, and regulatory agencies
  • perform other duties as assigned
  • serve as Manager on Duty as assigned
