Job Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in hospitality or related field
  • 1-2 years experience in convention services, hotel sales, or hotel marketing
  • Proficiency in property management systems
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to speak and hear in English
  • Ability to sit frequently with some walking and standing
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to work normal office conditions and in close proximity to others

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in hospitality or related field
  • 1-2 years experience in convention services, hotel sales, or hotel marketing
  • Proficiency in property management systems
  • Excellent communication, presentation, organization, time management, and listening skills
  • Analytical skills for measuring business potential
  • Ability to speak and hear English
  • Knowledge of meal guarantees, event setup styles, and hotel services

Job Duties

  • Receive and respond to all customer inquiries within four business hours
  • Negotiate and capture all profitable rooms and catering business in accordance with selective selling guidelines
  • Conduct successful site tours and pre-con meetings when required
  • Prepare and send requested collateral materials to designated clients or guests such as catering menus, brochures, meeting room layouts, seating capacity diagrams, and area maps
  • Prepare and send requested proposals and contracts to designated potential clients
  • Coordinate all details pertaining to rooming lists including room types, shared rooms, locations, handicap-accessible rooms, and billing
  • Educate event planners on hotel procedures including meal guarantees, set-up styles, payment terms, and services
  • Coordinate details for banquet event orders including meeting room setup, food and beverage items, audio/visual equipment, and billing
  • Distribute final rooming lists and banquet event orders to applicable service staff
  • Meet clients upon arrival and prior to departure to ensure contract fulfillment
  • Document and report sales activities timely and accurately
  • Maintain an active list of top accounts for continuous relationship building
  • Perform other services and duties as requested by the Director of Sales
  • Host functions and participate in sales blitzes, travel, and work extended hours as needed
  • Implement methods to raise meeting planner evaluation scores and ensure satisfaction
  • Perform other duties as assigned
