Job Requirements

  • Experience in hospitality and catering sales
  • Minimum 1 year of hospitality industry experience
  • Experience in a similar size and quality hotel
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Delphi
  • Knowledge of sales, revenue management, and train peers
  • Understanding of hotel operations and market competition
  • Strong communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Prior experience in hospitality with specific experience in catering sales
  • At least 1 year of hospitality industry experience
  • Experience at a hotel of similar size and quality
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Delphi
  • Knowledge of sales skills, revenue management, training, and motivation
  • Understanding of hotel features, benefits, and competition
  • Ability to execute effective action plans
  • Knowledge of hotel operations including marketing, security, personnel, business planning, maintenance, budgeting, quality assurance, hospitality law, and long-range planning
  • Ability to work under time constraints and deadlines
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills adaptable to different audiences

Job Duties

  • Understand monthly forecasting and annual budget process
  • Raise meeting planner evaluation scores and implement methods to exceed satisfaction
  • Optimize room rental charges
  • Participate in re-booking of repeat business by maintaining long-term client relationships
  • Actively participate in industry organizations such as NACE and MPI
  • Utilize strong sales techniques including closing and negotiating skills
  • Conduct hotel site inspections and client presentations
  • Develop innovative set-ups, menus, and group functions working with culinary teams
  • Coordinate with banquet department for operations and event execution
  • Manage Audio/Visual equipment as a profit center
  • Utilize computer programs including Delphi, Word, and Excel
  • Monitor group room blocks and generate detailed resumes for operating departments
  • Work with outside vendors to ensure client satisfaction
  • Comply with attendance rules and perform other job-related duties as assigned
