Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year hospitality industry experience
  • Experience in catering sales
  • Proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Delphi
  • Strong knowledge of sales techniques
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Willingness to work regularly and comply with attendance policies

Job Qualifications

  • Prior hospitality experience with a focus on catering sales
  • Minimum one year in the hospitality industry
  • Experience at a hotel of similar size and quality
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Delphi
  • Knowledge of sales, revenue management, and peer motivation
  • Understanding of hotel features and competing hotels
  • Ability to execute action plans promptly
  • Familiarity with hotel operations including marketing, security, personnel, budgeting, and quality assurance
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt communication style to diverse audiences

Job Duties

  • Understand monthly forecasting and annual budget process
  • Raise meeting planner evaluation scores and implement methods for exceeding satisfaction
  • Optimize room rental charges
  • Participate in re-booking repeat business and maintain long-term client relationships
  • Actively engage with industry organizations such as NACE and MPI
  • Exhibit strong sales techniques including closing and negotiating skills
  • Conduct hotel site inspections and client presentations
  • Develop creative event setups and menus in partnership with the culinary team
  • Coordinate with banquet department on operations and event execution
  • Ensure thorough execution of banquet event orders
  • Manage audiovisual equipment as a profit center
  • Utilize Delphi, Word, and Excel for event management
  • Monitor group room blocks and generate detailed resumes for departments
  • Collaborate with outside vendors to ensure client satisfaction
  • Adhere to attendance rules and perform other duties as assigned
