Job Requirements

  • Experience in hospitality with catering sales
  • One or more years in hospitality industry
  • Experience at similar size and quality hotel
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Delphi
  • Knowledge of sales techniques and revenue management
  • Understanding of hotel features and market competition
  • Ability to execute action plans
  • Familiarity with hotel operations
  • Ability to work under deadlines
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Prior experience in hospitality with catering sales
  • At least one year within the hospitality industry
  • Experience at similar size and quality hotel
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Delphi
  • Knowledge of sales techniques, revenue management, and peer training
  • Understanding of hotel features and market competition
  • Ability to execute action plans effectively
  • Familiarity with hotel operations including marketing, safety, labor relations, business planning, and quality assurance
  • Capability to work under time constraints and meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt communication style to different audiences

Job Duties

  • Understand monthly forecasting and annual budget process
  • Raise meeting planner evaluation scores and implement methods to exceed satisfaction
  • Optimize room rental charges
  • Participate in re-booking repeat business and maintain long-term client relationships
  • Engage actively in industry organizations such as NACE and MPI
  • Apply strong sales and negotiating skills
  • Conduct hotel site inspections and client presentations
  • Create innovative event set-ups and collaborate on specialty menu pricing
  • Work closely with banquet operations for event execution
  • Manage banquet event order details
  • Provide audio/visual equipment management as a profit center
  • Use Delphi, Word, and Excel proficiently
  • Monitor group room blocks and generate resumes for departments
  • Coordinate with outside vendors to ensure client satisfaction
  • Comply with attendance rules and maintain regular work availability
  • Perform other assigned job-related duties
