Job Requirements
- Prior experience in catering sales
- at least 1 year hospitality industry experience
- computer proficiency including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Delphi
- knowledge of sales and revenue management
- understanding of hotel operations and marketing
- ability to work under deadlines
- strong communication skills
- availability to work regularly as required
Job Qualifications
- Prior experience in hospitality with catering sales
- minimum of 1 year in hospitality industry
- experience in a similar size and quality hotel
- proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Delphi
- knowledge of sales techniques and revenue management
- understanding of hotel features and competing market hotels
- ability to implement action plans
- knowledge of hotel operations including marketing, safety, personnel, business planning, maintenance, budgeting, quality assurance, hospitality law, and long-range planning
- effective verbal and written communication skills
- ability to adapt communication style to different audiences
Job Duties
- Understand monthly forecasting and annual budget process
- implement effective methods to exceed meeting planner satisfaction
- optimize room rental charges
- re-book repeat business and maintain long-term client relationships
- actively participate in industry organizations such as NACE and MPI
- utilize strong sales and negotiating skills
- conduct hotel site inspections and client presentations
- develop innovative event set-ups and menus in collaboration with the culinary team
- coordinate event operations with banquet department
- manage banquet event orders
- operate and manage Audio/Visual equipment as a profit center
- proficiently use Delphi, Word, and Excel
- monitor group room blocks and pick up
- prepare detailed resumes for operating departments
- collaborate with outside vendors to ensure client satisfaction
- comply with attendance requirements
- perform any other assigned duties
