Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year hospitality industry experience
  • Experience in catering sales
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Delphi software
  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills
  • Excellent communication abilities
  • Ability to maintain client relationships
  • Knowledge of hotel operations and budgeting
  • Availability to work regular hours and comply with attendance policies

Job Qualifications

  • Prior experience in hospitality with specific catering sales experience
  • At least 1 year in the hospitality industry
  • Experience in hotels of similar size and quality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Delphi
  • Knowledge of sales skills, revenue management, and staff training
  • Understanding of hotel features, benefits, and competitive landscape
  • Ability to implement effective action plans
  • Comprehensive knowledge of hotel operations including marketing, security, labor relations, budgeting, and hospitality law
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt communication style for different audiences

Job Duties

  • Understand monthly forecasting and annual budget process
  • Raise meeting planner evaluation scores and implement methods to ensure satisfaction
  • Optimize room rental charges
  • Participate in re-booking repeat business and maintain long-term client relationships
  • Actively participate in industry organizations such as NACE and MPI
  • Employ strong sales techniques including closing and negotiating
  • Conduct hotel site inspections and client presentations
  • Provide innovative event setups, menus, and functions
  • Collaborate closely with banquet department on event operations
  • Oversee detailed execution of banquet event orders
  • Manage audio/visual equipment as a profit center
  • Utilize computer software including Delphi, Word, and Excel
  • Monitor group room blocks and generate detailed resumes
  • Work with outside vendors to ensure client satisfaction
  • Comply with attendance rules and perform additional related duties as assigned
