Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of one year hospitality experience
  • Proven sales and event coordination experience
  • Strong knowledge of hotel sales and marketing principles

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year working in the hospitality industry ideally within a hotel of similar size and caliber
  • Demonstrated knowledge of sales techniques, revenue optimization strategies, and team motivation
  • In-depth understanding of the local hotel market including awareness of competitor offerings and differentiators
  • Ability to develop and implement effective sales and marketing plans aligned with hotel objectives
  • Familiarity with hotel operations such as marketing initiatives, safety and security protocols, and quality assurance
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines under pressure
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences including leadership, team members, and clients
  • Adaptable and collaborative mindset capable of working effectively across departments and with various stakeholders

Job Duties

  • Managing all small group RFPs across platforms such as Cvent, the hotel website, and direct communications ensuring timely responses within 24 hours
  • Qualifying incoming leads from social groups, sports teams, associations, corporate mini-groups, and local organizations to evaluate fit and revenue potential
  • Actively prospecting new business by engaging with Los Angeles area companies, universities, associations, and community contacts to promote the Biltmore's meeting spaces and services
  • Driving bookings for breakfasts, luncheons, trainings, and other short-lead events while effectively cross-selling hotel amenities like audiovisual services, catering, valet parking, and room upgrades
  • Preparing and processing contracts, proposals, and Banquet Event Orders while working closely with banquet and operations teams to ensure flawless event execution
  • Maintaining consistent communication with clients throughout the planning and post-event phases to ensure satisfaction and future business opportunities
  • Tracking sales activity, booking pace, and performance metrics to support revenue goals and collaborating with Revenue Management to optimize group rates and upselling opportunities such as suites and food and beverage minimums
