Job Requirements
- Prior experience in hospitality with specific experience in catering sales
- At least 1 year of experience in the hospitality industry
- Experience working at a hotel similar in size and quality
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Delphi
- Knowledge of sales techniques, revenue management, and team motivation
- Familiarity with hotel features, benefits, and competitors
- Ability to execute action plans effectively
- Understanding of hotel operations including marketing, security, personnel, business plans, maintenance, budget forecasting, quality assurance, hospitality law, and long-range planning
- Ability to work under time constraints and deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to adapt communication style for diverse audiences

Job Duties
- Identify and implement profitable execution of all groups
- Ensure that each group meets or exceeds revenue expectations based on contracts
- Contribute actively to a high-performance culture within the Convention Services Department
- Increase meeting planner satisfaction through evaluation score improvement strategies
- Optimize room rental charges
- Participate in re-booking of repeat business through long-term client relationships
- Engage in industry organizations such as NACE and MPI
- Apply sales techniques including strong closing and negotiation skills
- Conduct hotel site inspections and client presentations
- Create innovative set-ups and menus in collaboration with Chef
- Coordinate with banquet department on operations and event execution
- Provide direction, coordination, and evaluation of operations
- Manage banquet event orders generated by the Convention Services Department
- Operate Audio/Visual equipment as a profit center
- Use computers effectively with Delphi, Word, and Excel
- Monitor group room blocks and generate detailed resumes for operating departments
- Collaborate with outside vendors to ensure client satisfaction for events
- Follow attendance rules and be available to work regularly
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
