Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • at least 1 year of related work experience
  • no supervisory experience required

  • proficiency in handling guest payment processing
  • familiarity with hospitality industry standards
  • ability to anticipate and address guest needs

Job Duties

  • Assist personnel to expedite problematic payments such as credit card processing issues
  • follow up with guests to ensure satisfaction with problem resolution
  • process guest check-in registrations including reservation confirmation, room assignment, key delivery and activation
  • process all payment types including room charges and payments made by cash, checks, debit or credit cards
  • open accurate guest accounts for shared rooms, separate rooms, taxes, incidentals and compensations
  • anticipate situations of room unavailability and arrange satisfactory alternative accommodations
  • block rooms in the computer and identify specific guest requests and requirements
  • contact appropriate person or department such as bell staff or housekeeping to resolve guest calls, requests or problems
  • coordinate with housekeeping to ensure rooms are in perfect condition for guest arrivals
  • review shift logs and daily memos and document pertinent information in records
  • compute cash drawer at start and end of shift
  • balance and submit receipts according to accounting specifications
  • assist management in training, motivating and coaching employees and serve as an example and first point of contact for the open door and fair treatment policy
  • report accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions, participate in safety training and obtain certifications
  • comply with company policies and procedures, maintain professional appearance and confidentiality
  • anticipate guest service needs and respond proactively
  • communicate clearly and professionally with others, prepare and review written documents accurately, answer phones using proper protocols
  • cultivate and maintain positive working relationships
  • ensure compliance with quality standards
  • stand, sit or walk for extended periods
  • move, lift, transport, push, pull and place objects weighing 10 pounds or less
  • perform other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors
