Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of housekeeping or related experience
  • Previous hotel experience preferred
  • Leadership capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency in English
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Ability to learn property management software
  • Availability for rotating schedules including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of previous housekeeping or related experience, hotel preferred
  • Experience working within Marriott properties preferred
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Proficient in English
  • Bilingual skills are a plus
  • Familiarity with common computer software programs
  • Ability to learn new software programs and operate property management systems
  • Willingness to work a rotating schedule including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Manages day-to-day operations of the department to ensure associates adhere to company and brand standards
  • Responsible for recruiting, interviewing, and hiring associates for the housekeeping department
  • Develop specific departmental goals and objectives to prioritize, organize, and get work done
  • Drive ongoing associate engagement and recognition initiatives
  • Establish and maintain open collaborative relationships with direct reports and team members
  • Manage the ordering and inventory for the housekeeping department supplies and uniforms
  • Supervise staffing levels to ensure guest services, operational needs, and financial objectives are met
  • Adhere to cleanliness standards for rooms and public spaces
  • Provide support to the hotel general manager
  • Tour and inspect property daily for cleanliness, safety, security, product quality, and exceptional service
  • Train and support all associates
  • Conduct new hire orientation and onboarding
  • Maintain key control and lost and found procedures
  • Plan work schedules and room assignments
  • Perform technical and administrative duties including report writing and monitoring department checkbooks
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state labor laws
  • Perform other duties as assigned
