Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university

Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in applicable discipline or equivalent experience
- at least eight years experience managing similar facilities
- advanced knowledge of management and staff leadership principles
- comprehensive knowledge of public assembly facility operations including fiscal control, marketing, and event management
- ability to follow directions with minimal supervision
- strong organizational and communication skills
- teamwork and collaboration skills
- ability to work varied hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- excellent interpersonal skills and professionalism
- familiarity with OSHA, NFPA and risk management
- ability to solve complex problems and maintain composure in fast-paced environments
- proficient in business writing and public speaking
- certified venue executive or meeting planner designation preferred
Job Duties
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with contract administrators, city departments, clients, community stakeholders, and industry decision makers
- provide cohesive and positive leadership and direction to all departments and staff
- aggressively promote the facility usage with agents, promoters, and community to maximize annual events
- negotiate lease agreements with meeting planners and event organizers
- serve as fiscal oversight officer including budget development and financial management
- ensure safe operation and proper maintenance of all properties
- oversee compliance with operating agreements with entertainment and concession partners
- seek community involvement opportunities and represent VenuWorks positively
- monitor contract compliance
- negotiate necessary contractual agreements
- approve all contracts and agreements with vendors and licensees
- complete annual reporting and communicate successes
- develop relationships with artist agents and promoters
- guide marketing and ticket operations
- maximize revenues from sponsorships, grants, and donations
- manage third-party food and beverage operations
- recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate staff
- plan and coordinate all activities and staff for operation and maintenance
- conduct staff performance appraisals and make salary recommendations
- conduct regular leadership and staff meetings
- administer operating budgets
- advise on staffing plans
- create an exceptional working environment
- greet clients and public courteously
- maintain daily oversight of operations and event activity
- ensure capital maintenance and improvement projects
- enforce compliance with regulations
- oversee risk mitigation initiatives and safety policies
- maintain emergency preparedness
- administer corporate prescribed plans on human resources, marketing, quality assurance, safety, and crowd control
