Job Requirements

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role
  • Knowledge of basic principles of food preparation and cooking methods
  • Ability to follow production guidelines and recipes accurately
  • Capacity to safely use kitchen utensils and equipment
  • Ability to adhere to food safety and sanitation policies
  • Physically capable of lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking or standing
  • Willingness to comply with uniform and personal protective equipment usage
  • Ability to acquire food safety certification
  • Good communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role
  • Validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • Ability to acquire food safety certification
  • Demonstrated basic math and counting skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal

Job Duties

  • Cook and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • Set up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
  • Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
  • Safely use a variety of utensils including knives
  • Operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
  • Bake, roast, broil, steam, and use a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
  • Arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines
  • Properly store food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • Maintain excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
  • Adhere to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
  • Ensure security of company assets
