Job Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Kitchen Manager, Executive Chef, Sous Chef, or similar BOH leadership role
  • pride in culinary detail, execution, and presentation
  • ability to lead by example and mentor others
  • passion for food balanced with discipline and consistency
  • ability to thrive in a high-volume, standards-driven kitchen

Job Qualifications

  • Proven culinary leadership experience
  • strong understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and kitchen operations
  • knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and industry best practices
  • excellent organizational and communication skills
  • ServSafe Certification preferred but not required

Job Duties

  • Lead the execution of food that is consistently prepared, beautifully presented, and worthy of guest praise
  • uphold Village Tavern’s culinary standards through recipe adherence, prep accuracy, and attention to detail
  • ensure precise plating, garnish, and visual presentation of every dish
  • conduct regular line checks and tastings to confirm quality and consistency
  • train, coach, and develop BOH team members on technique, prep, and presentation
  • build a kitchen culture rooted in pride, professionalism, and accountability
  • lead and manage the BOH team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • oversee food ordering, inventory, and par levels with a focus on quality and waste control
  • maintain sanitation, safety, and temperature standards at all times
  • partner with the General Manager to support operational and guest experience goals
