Job Requirements

  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional training
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years of culinary management experience preferably in high-volume catering, hotels, conference centers, or university dining
  • Demonstrated success managing $2-3 million or more in catering volume annually
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills
  • Proven expertise in menu development, event execution, and cost control
  • Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and event-heavy periods
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds
  • Willingness to work in hot, cold, or fast-paced kitchen environments as required

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Culinary leadership and menu development
  • Design and implement innovative, seasonal, and diverse catering menus
  • Create custom menus for high-profile events and VIP receptions
  • Monitor food trends and incorporate new techniques
  • Oversee all food production for on- and off-site events
  • Coordinate with catering managers and event planners
  • Maintain production schedules and event readiness
  • Manage food cost targets and labor budgets
  • Source vendors and negotiate pricing
  • Assist in menu pricing and cost analysis
  • Recruit, train, and mentor culinary staff
  • Schedule and supervise kitchen teams
  • Foster a positive and collaborative kitchen culture
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations
  • Maintain sanitation and cleanliness standards
  • Conduct ongoing food safety training
  • Maintain high culinary quality and consistency
  • Participate in client tastings and represent culinary team
  • Resolve food quality or service issues professionally
