Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • five years supervisory experience
  • experience in food service within hospitality, country club, or senior living preferred
  • strong communication skills
  • proficiency in report writing and business correspondence
  • ability to apply mathematical reasoning to budgeting
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to develop and deliver staff training
  • capability to manage budgets and control costs
  • ability to maintain confidentiality
  • willingness to comply with regulatory standards and inspections

Job Qualifications

  • five years supervisory experience

  • ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • ability to develop, monitor, and adjust a budget

Job Duties

  • perform all responsibilities consistent with the community's operating and service philosophy
  • maintain a professional appearance and approach while on duty
  • monitor key measurable indicators of daily operations
  • implement established policies, procedures, and performance standards
  • develop and provide ongoing staff training
  • participate in departmental and community meetings
  • maintain confidentiality
  • ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and accrediting standards
  • administer and direct food service activities
  • control food service department budget
  • implement policies for menu formulation, food preparation, purchasing, sanitation, safety, and personal utilization
  • select, orient, and coach kitchen staff
  • schedule kitchen personnel for optimal service and profitability
  • ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of equipment
  • monitor and maintain food purchasing and inventory
  • coordinate interdepartmental activities and serve as a consultant
  • supervise food preparation and service workers
  • consult with healthcare personnel on nutritional needs and diet restrictions
  • formulate menus for special diets
  • inspect meals for adherence to prescribed diets and quality standards
  • ensure menus conform to nutritional standards and government regulations
  • ensure resident satisfaction and quality
  • establish and monitor kitchen staffing
  • respond to residents' special needs
  • emphasize safe food handling practices
  • collaborate with Dining Room Manager to meet service standards
  • coordinate with corporate F&B team for compliance
  • promote and support Genuine Hospitality Program
