Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum of five years supervisory experience in food service
  • experience in hospitality, country club, or senior living industry preferred
  • proficient written and verbal communication skills
  • strong analytical ability including math skills
  • capability to develop and manage budgets
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • ability to lead and train a team
  • must comply with regulatory standards and community policies

Job Qualifications

  • Five years supervisory experience required
  • food service experience in hospitality, country club, or senior living industry preferred
  • ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • ability to develop, monitor, and adjust a budget

Job Duties

  • Perform all responsibilities in a manner consistent with the community's operating and service philosophy
  • maintain a professional appearance, manner, and approach while on duty
  • monitor key measurable indicators of daily operations
  • implement established policies, procedures, and standards of performance
  • develop in-service training and ongoing staff training
  • participate in departmental and community meetings and projects
  • maintain confidentiality
  • comply with local, state, federal, regulatory, and accrediting body standards
  • plan and direct activities of the food service department
  • control costs and manage the food service budget
  • implement policies and procedures for menu formulation, food preparation, purchasing, sanitation, safety, and personal utilization
  • select, orient, and coach kitchen staff
  • schedule kitchen personnel to optimize service and profitability
  • ensure maintenance and cleanliness of equipment
  • monitor food purchasing and inventory
  • coordinate interdepartmental professional activities
  • supervise food preparation and service workers
  • consult with healthcare personnel on nutritional and diet needs
  • formulate menus for special diets integrating with basic menus
  • inspect meals for dietary adherence and quality
  • consult with Executive Director on menus and policies
  • ensure resident satisfaction and quality
  • establish and monitor kitchen staffing schedules
  • respond to residents' special needs
  • emphasize safe food handling practices
  • collaborate with Dining Room Manager and corporate F&B team
  • promote Genuine Hospitality Program
