Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • two to four years of supervisory or management experience in a kitchen
  • strong cooking skills

  • physically able to carry or lift items up to 75 pounds
  • able to move safely about the kitchen

Job Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • culinary arts courses, certifications or related degree preferred
  • two to four years experience supervising or managing kitchen staff
  • experience with inventory management and food ordering in a high-volume kitchen

Job Duties

  • Control the day-to-day culinary operations within company policies and guidelines including staffing
  • maintain professional company image including kitchen cleanliness and uniform standards
  • maintain updated and accurate costing and documentation of dishes prepared and sold
  • establish procedures and timeframes for inventory and determine stock levels
  • ensure security and proper storage of food and beverage products and timely replenishment of supplies
  • ensure all kitchen equipment is operational and cleaned regularly
  • resolve employee conflicts and customer issues promptly
  • rally staff during heavy shifts and ensure high-quality product and service standards
  • control food costs through ordering, inventory, and financial reviews
  • communicate standards and cooking methods clearly to staff and customers
  • ensure a safe working environment to reduce injury risks
  • maintain kitchen organization and cleanliness as per health department standards
  • create and manage work schedules, shipments, and cleaning schedules
  • recruit, interview, hire, supervise, and motivate kitchen team members
  • train employees on an ongoing basis
  • lead by example and mentor new staff
