Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent associate degree with experience
  • Minimum of five years' experience as an Executive Chef
  • Current ServSafe Certification
  • Proven leadership and staff management skills
  • Ability to develop creative menus within budget constraints
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including special events
  • Experience managing food and labor budgets
  • Ability to maintain positive vendor relationships

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Culinary Arts preferred
  • Associate degree with equivalent combination of minimum five years' work experience as an Executive Chef acceptable
  • Minimum of five years' experience as an Executive Chef within the hospitality industry
  • Current ServSafe Certification

Job Duties

  • Assist kitchen and restaurant staff with back and front of the house operations as needed
  • Assist in planning, preparation, and execution of special events, banquets, and theme meals
  • Use innovation, imagination, originality, and talent to produce menus and recipes within budget
  • Understand and maintain monthly and annual budgets for Food and Beverage department
  • Review and adjust menus to accommodate seasonal ingredients and supply chain considerations
  • Ensure purchasing standards are maintained and relationships with vendors are strong
  • Accurately report and submit monthly inventory of food and beverage supplies
  • Interview, hire, and train staff for culinary and food and beverage positions
  • Manage and supervise all culinary and food and beverage staff including scheduling and performance reviews
  • Work with executive director and administrative staff to maintain customer satisfaction and health standards
  • Ensure preventive maintenance programs for kitchen equipment are conducted
  • Confirm food policies and procedures are practiced by staff
  • Manage control of food preparation and prevent overproduction and waste
  • Oversee maintenance and production of accurate daily records
  • Provide ongoing training to kitchen staff in food preparation and quality service
  • Ensure collaboration between front of house and back of house to provide outstanding customer service
  • Work closely with marketing and activities personnel on special events
  • Meet regularly with residents and family members to confirm satisfaction levels
  • Advise management of any concerns regarding residents
