Job Requirements

  • bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in culinary arts preferred
  • associate degree with equivalent experience considered
  • minimum five years work experience as an executive chef
  • experience in hospitality industry
  • current ServSafe certification
  • ability to work flexible hours including special events
  • strong organizational skills
  • excellent interpersonal and supervisory abilities

Job Duties

  • assist kitchen and restaurant staff with back and front of the house operations as needed
  • plan, prepare, and execute special events, banquets, and theme meals
  • produce innovative menus and recipes using high-quality ingredients within budget
  • maintain monthly and annual food and beverage budgets
  • review and adjust menus to accommodate seasonal changes and cost fluctuations
  • ensure purchasing standards and vendor relationships are maintained
  • manage food and beverage inventory and documentation
  • interview, hire, and train culinary and food service staff
  • supervise staff scheduling, performance, and conduct
  • collaborate with executive director and administrative staff to maintain high customer satisfaction and health department scores
  • oversee preventive maintenance of kitchen equipment
  • ensure compliance with dietary restrictions and food safety policies
  • control food preparation to minimize waste
  • maintain accurate daily records
  • provide ongoing staff training on food preparation and presentation standards
  • foster collaboration between front and back of house staff
  • coordinate with marketing and activities for resident special needs and events
  • engage with residents and families to ensure satisfaction
  • report concerns to management
