Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • three years of experience as an executive chef or sous chef in a high-volume industry-leading concept
  • four to seven years of culinary experience in a healthcare setting, established restaurant, or catering company
  • ServSafe Manager certification
  • Food Safety Handler certification
  • ability to work flexible schedules
  • strong financial and computer skills
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs and POS systems
  • excellent leadership and communication skills
  • ability to comply with health and safety regulations

Job Qualifications

  • Three years of experience as an executive chef or sous chef in a high-volume industry-leading concept
  • four to seven years of culinary experience in a healthcare setting, established restaurant, or catering company
  • certificate or degree in Culinary Arts preferred
  • ServSafe Manager certification required
  • Food Safety Handler certification required

Job Duties

  • Plan regular and modified menus according to established guidelines
  • follow standardized recipes, portioning and presentation standards
  • complete and utilize daily production worksheets and waste log sheets
  • taste completed meals to ensure quality
  • train kitchen staff in food preparation, safe handling, operation of equipment, food safety and sanitation based on company and regulatory standards
  • establish and maintain cleaning and maintenance schedules for equipment, storage and work areas
  • ensure that kitchen staff follows and completes schedules as assigned
  • maintain inventory of food and non-food supplies to stay within established guidelines while assuring necessary product availability
  • interview and hire applicants for employment along with training programs
  • set up work schedules and job requirements
  • comply with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures as evidenced through audits
  • follow facility, department, and company safety policies and procedures including occurrence reporting
  • participate and attend departmental meetings, staff development, and professional programs
  • demonstrate strong financial and computer skills
  • work with and understand P&Ls and budgeting
  • create exciting and accessible new dishes appropriate for the venue's concept
  • work flexible schedules to accommodate business levels
  • lead team members clearly and concisely while positively influencing employee behavior and performance
  • navigate and utilize Microsoft Office Suite programs, appropriate POS systems, and kitchen machinery
  • engage in direct interaction with patients and guests
