Job Requirements
- Minimum education level of high school diploma or equivalent
- Proven kitchen management experience preferably in a live event or full-service setting
- Current Food Handler's card and relevant alcohol service permit if applicable
- Ability to work non-standard hours including evenings and weekends
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in scheduling and staff management software
- Ability to maintain certification in food safety and sanitation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and work under pressure
- Professional appearance and demeanor

Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years kitchen management experience in a full service restaurant or events venue
- Demonstrated track record of meeting projected costs
- Professional appearance and presentation
- Proficient in computer software including MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- Current Food Handler's card and alcohol service permit if required
- Knowledge of employee scheduling in hospitality environment
- Certification in a nationally recognized sanitation program or ability to obtain
- Technical proficiency in food preparation methods
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to effectively communicate and listen
- Ability to train, evaluate, motivate and coach staff
- Ability to delegate responsibilities to meet goals
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Detail-oriented with ability to multitask and prioritize in dynamic environment
- Self-directed while collaborating in a team environment
- Flexible availability including nights, weekends and long hours
Job Duties
- Manage, develop and mentor full-time and part-time culinary staff including hiring, firing and disciplining
- Ensure staff understand workplace expectations and provide ongoing training and mentoring
- Maintain budgeted food costs through portion control, inventory management, purchasing procedures and waste control
- Control labor costs through effective scheduling, cross-training and monitoring breaks
- Oversee food preparation and menu development ensuring quality, consistency and adherence to standards
- Supervise line set-up, prep and breakdown activities
- Manage kitchen equipment maintenance and readiness
- Coordinate catering service delivery and food service area set-up
- Arrange kitchen staff training and orientation
- Maintain a positive, compliant employee relations climate including staffing, training and evaluation
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and sanitation regulations
- Maintain kitchen records including food inventories and invoicing
- Organize staff work schedules and enforce uniform policies
- Promote teamwork through effective communication, leadership and goal setting
- Oversee production of staff meals ensuring they are timely and nutritious
