Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years of culinary management experience
- Valid Food Handler's card
- Alcohol service permit if required
- Proficient in computer software including MS Office
- Ability to work variable hours including nights and weekends
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to manage staff and resolve conflicts
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to train and develop team members
- Capability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Professional demeanor and appearance
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years kitchen management experience in a full service restaurant or events venue
- Demonstrated track record of meeting projected costs
- Professional appearance and presentation
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Maintains a current Food Handler's card and alcohol service permit if required
- Working knowledge of employee scheduling in hospitality
- Ability to obtain certification in a nationally recognized sanitation program
- Verifiable knowledge of food preparation methods
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to train, motivate, and develop staff
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Detail-oriented and able to multitask
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends
Job Duties
- Manage, develop, and mentor culinary staff including hiring and disciplining
- Train and assist event staff, promoting a cooperative workplace environment
- Control food costs through effective purchasing and inventory management
- Schedule kitchen staff and monitor labor costs
- Develop menus ensuring quality, consistency, and style
- Oversee food preparation, portion control, and kitchen safety
- Coordinate kitchen equipment maintenance and catering setup
- Promote positive employee relations and enforce health and safety compliance
- Maintain kitchen records and manage administrative tasks
- Lead teamwork and effective communication among kitchen staff
