Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of culinary management experience
  • Valid Food Handler's card
  • Alcohol service permit if required
  • Proficient in computer software including MS Office
  • Ability to work variable hours including nights and weekends
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to manage staff and resolve conflicts
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to train and develop team members
  • Capability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional demeanor and appearance

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years kitchen management experience in a full service restaurant or events venue
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting projected costs
  • Professional appearance and presentation
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Maintains a current Food Handler's card and alcohol service permit if required
  • Working knowledge of employee scheduling in hospitality
  • Ability to obtain certification in a nationally recognized sanitation program
  • Verifiable knowledge of food preparation methods
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to train, motivate, and develop staff
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Detail-oriented and able to multitask
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends

Job Duties

  • Manage, develop, and mentor culinary staff including hiring and disciplining
  • Train and assist event staff, promoting a cooperative workplace environment
  • Control food costs through effective purchasing and inventory management
  • Schedule kitchen staff and monitor labor costs
  • Develop menus ensuring quality, consistency, and style
  • Oversee food preparation, portion control, and kitchen safety
  • Coordinate kitchen equipment maintenance and catering setup
  • Promote positive employee relations and enforce health and safety compliance
  • Maintain kitchen records and manage administrative tasks
  • Lead teamwork and effective communication among kitchen staff
